LS-DYNA

LS-DYNA is an advance multi-purpose CAE simulation software. It was originally developed in 1976 as DYNA3D by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL); now Livermore Software Technology (LST), an ANSYS company to solve highly non-linear transient dynamic 3D problems using explicit time integration methods.

Considered as a pioneer in this domain, LS-DYNA has expanded its capacities over the years in the following areas as well,

  • Linear Static analysis
  • Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH)
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH)
  • Arbitrary Lagrange Eulerian (ALE)
  • Discrete Element Method (DEM)
  • Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI)
  • Boundary Element Method (BEM)
  • Quasi-static analysis
  • Rigid Body Dynamics (RBD)
  • Thermal Analysis
  • Acoustics
  • Electromagnetics (EM)
  • Element Free Galerkin (EFG)
  • Multi-physics coupled analysis
  • Heat Transfer

LS-DYNA's benefits includes:

  • All-in-one CAE simulation software for multi-physics coupled analysis.
  • Predicts the actual product behavior accurately.
  • Has good correlation with experimental data.
  • Robust and User friendly.
  • Operating System Compatibility – Windows, Linux, Unix
